I agree that mold spores are everywhere, but when a professional looks at a mold situation to identify if a problem exists they don't dillute the situation first; instead, they investigate for (most especially) health and safety then (practically) for protocol generation as necessary to the specific environment. The Indoor Environmental Standards Organization has a Standard for investigation, sample collection and analysis of mold. In that they don't say look for mold, dillute it and everything will be ok. I wish it were that simple. ("Dillution is never the final solution.") Rather you look for infestation (which should never occur if things are in order and processed properly), and evaluate mold activity (looking for things like water indicating organisms, abnormal types of mold, and/or an inflamation of common mold to the environment tested). Based on the outcome of the investigation (which should also include other factors which I left out to keep this simple) a protocl (or recommendation of care) should be outlined to not only dillute the situation, but remove the situation from its abnormalities (both on surface and in air). As far as biocide usage, see my other post in this run of discussion.
