Window Repair

I have what the inspector called tension spring windows. One is broken in that it wont stay up. The others are fine, but not perfect.
What is the best way/resource to use to get started in fixing it myself.
I dont know much about windows but I feel like if I could get a little help getting started I could probably figure it out myself.
