I find it strange that removing carpet in a hall would cause your stair treads to begin squeeking. I know of no anti-squeek oil specifically marketed for wood. I have heard that sometimes you can sprinkle talc between two squeeking boards to quiet them for a while. Nevertheless, do you have unhindered access to the underside of the stairs? If so, you should be able to locate and tighten up the offending boards. Post back with a little more information describing your situation.
