No, grooves in your new vinyl will not present any problem in your application. However, if your old linolium has grooves or an embossed pattern, in time it can telegraph up through your new vinyl. If that is the case, you should use a leveling compound to fill in any grooves or pattern, or easier still, install sheet underlayment prior to the new surface. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
