My Dad worked around asbestos for 42 years before he retired, he also smoked 2 packs a day. He recently passed,,not related,, complications from a blood clot,, he was 87. I also worked with friable asbestos on a daily basis for years before the regs. ,, that was 35+ yrs ago. I won't downplay the risks, but flooring and the mastic is not friable and unless the flooring was sanded, ground, sawed or anything else that would create dust you should not be too concerned.
