texturing. You don't have to match it exactly but with joint compound and some hand tools you can fake it pretty well. Look at what you have and figure out something around the house that will make that sort of pattern. A brush, a comb, whatever. Once it's painted I doubt that anyone would notice it if you don't point it out. I'm sure you can do it.
