outside frost proof sillcock leaking

Posted by no1vet on May 28th, 2009 11:21 PM

how do you replace the O ring that is probably leaking on the inside on a frostproof sillcock, called a spigot or also faucet? Older house about 61 yrs old. It has galvanized pipe and looks like it has some pipe insulation covering it on inside. A friend told me to unscrew from outside and pull out and easy to put an O ring after shutting the water off. I watched your video on installing a new sillcock and soldering the pipe. My friend said he did what he told me on how I explained from above and it was easy at his house when he did it. I want to be sure before I unscrew from outside and pull out pipe. Thank you for answer.
