I figured it was probably coal dust, because the house was heated with coal until it was converted to oil, and later to gas in the 1960's. And it seems logical to me that it's coming from the attic, but I'm obviously a novice when it comes to attic ventilation! I have no idea how to determine what path it's taking to find its way into the living areas of the house. Any ideas how I should go about this?
