I don't know about plans, but I was just at EPCOT center in Disney World and I went on the Test Track ride sponsored by GM. As you exit the ride, in the gift shop they have the Hummer go-kart on display. I don't know if it's the same one from the commercial, but it sure looks like it. So, depending on how badly you want to know, you could go check out the real thing and see how they did it.
