Wood Basement ??!

Joe, Sorry, buddy, but what do you mean when you say 'wood basement'??? Personally, I don't see anything wrong with a concrete slab. If I could build my dream house, I'd have a center floor drain or a corner sump pit built into it in case some major water 'problem' happens. Are you referring to the floor? If so, are you asking if a 'virgin' concrete floor vs. a concrete floor that's finished with, say, hardwood is better?
