remove padding glue from hardwood floor

I have used Power X brand furniture polish with beeswax (bought at Harps). It is very liquidy and the glue soaks it up like water and is easier to scrape off. Unfortunatly discolored spots were left where the glue was but better than scraping it dry. Also Old English brand Scratch cover can be used to touch up and didn't need to refinish the floors.
