You are being lied to, it's as simple as that. Not a bit unusual though in that industry. A 90% furnace is by design a condensing furnace meaning it condenses the exhaust, it is normal for it to produce LOTS of water. So your drain is clogged or you have a leak. The other thing that can cause a leak is a humidifier, you did not say if you have one. But a heat exchanger? - A BIG FAT LIE!
