I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number. If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.

** drum has settled about 1/2 or 3/4 inch...can I adjust it **

There are no "adjustments" that can be made to correct such a condition, no. Some part(s) of it are quite possibly worn out and need to be replaced. Likely culprits are worn drum rollers or drum glides (whichever are used on your actual model).

** dryer is running real rough **

I would suggest you discontinue use until corrected. Using a dryer in such a condition often leads to more extensive (and expensive) repairs... possibly to the point of not being worthwhile to fix. Catch most dryer problems early enough and it is seldom necessary to replace the whole appliance.
