My inlaws home has a metal roof which is still in good order except in the last 2 years my father in law (80 yrs old now)has been going up on the roof and clearing snow after each heavy snowfall as he noticed small leakage in the crevice where the wall and the lower roof meet.
He is a good DIY and was wondering aloud the other day as to what can be applied to this crevice as a permanent water barrier so that he doesn't need to clear the roof (dangerous in winter) other than calling in a roofer. He called in a registered roofer when he first noticed this issue (about 6 yrs ago)and he said it was a blotched job hence the reappearance of leakage in such a short time. The water is definitely coming in from this area as it had stopped for 4 years approx and now making an appearance in the same area.
