I will be taking my gun apart tomorrow and will check on the location of that part for you. In exchange, I would be interested in knowing where the springs should be. My trouble is very similar - I can't seem to position them correctly and can't remember where they were when I originally took the gun apart.( I was replacing the deteriorating o-ring).
