is wrong. I just bought a 115 year old house with a double walled brick foundation. I don't have a single crack in the original plaster walls.
My old Painted Lady Victorian had cracked plaster only in the addition. I found the rubble stone foundation was settling too much. Either the ground water table had changed or something but I ended up having to put in concrete block piers on poured footings to stabilize the house. Not cheap but it stopped the movement.
There has to be something moving or shifting or the cracks wouldn't be returning and you wouldn't be having new ones.
