My husband and I are trying to refinish a table that has a veneer top. After staining with an oil-based stain, we have tried to apply two different oil-based urethane products and had both pull away from small places on the table. We have stripped it and stained it again, but we are waiting until someone gives us advice on how to finish with something durable for regular use.
