As an owner/operator of an auto body shop (who burnt plenty of midnight oil) back in the late 70's into the early 80's I'm very familiar with body filler (bondo)and it's limitations. You first stated it won't absorb water, now you say only if not sealed. What "paint" would you suggest to use on a countertop that won't chip, peel, or scratch and expose the bondo to moisture ? and as far as heat, who isn't goimg to, sooner or later, put something hot on thier countertop?
Doug has the only reasonable repair other than a tile or "cutting board" inset.
Time and money ? JMO, a patch and paint job on a formica countertop is a waste of time and money. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
