I am almost ready to stain all my wood mouldings and paint my walls and ceiling which First???? staining involves a penetrating stain,then a wiping stain,then 2 or 3 coats of finish. The stain is very high in pigment so the finish is a deep mahogany ( hardwood floors will be done also)do I finish the wood(except floors)then tape them up and paint or the reverse???
