I want to build a raised patio (4 steps up from ground) so that you can walk out of the kitchen directly onto the patio (actually down 1 step from the kitchen/house).
I was planning on making a retaining wall with the wall pavers that you see at home centers, and fill in with gravel and sand and top it off with bricks.
My question is: I live in the north. Will this construction stand up to the snow/ice thaw and freeze? Is there a better way to do this?
