If I remember correctly these washers have an out of balance switch.. if it is over stuffed, out of balance and it goes into spin cycle it will shut down, but it is also supposed to start back up. The problem too maybe your washer is out of level, this would throw a level spin cycle out of level.. or maybe it's defective...consult with the instruction manual to find out if this is normal.
