I am looking for information on how pocket doors were constructed in homes during the 1950's. In other words I need to know what sizes of lumber were used then. Was it 2X4's turned sideways or some smaller stock? Next is how do you measure from the finished door frame, horizontally, to determine the distances between the framing vertical pieces?
