I don't like to use much of a floor leveling compound cause it can crack and break up over time if the floor shifts or flexes. Also it doesn't automatically seek a level like water cause it is so thick that you have to be pretty good with a trowel and level to free hand trowel that stuff. You can still end up with dips and bumps and you only have a few minutes before the stuff sets up.
