Does anyone have a recommendation for hanging a 4x12 wooden mantel above an inset fireplace? The wall is wood studs/drywall. I can find the studs. I don't want hardware to show. I was thinking of lag bolts with the heads cut off and matching holes in the back of the mantel. Suggestions of things that have worked for you? Thanks!
