Should I Convert My Heating System to Something Else? Posted by Jim on October 24th, 2000 05:38 AM
My oil fired warm air furnace just died, and I need to replace it. Does anyone have any info or know of a site that gives cost/savings comparisons on the types of household heat available (gas, warm air, hot water, kero, etc ...) to give a guy some info to base a decision on whether to stay with the old or change. My house is about 1100 square feet, and has all the air ducting in place ... but estimates are around $2700 to replace the furnace. I have a woodstove inline and heating my house right now, but I can't use it all winter here in Maine because of my pets. Any info SOON will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! --Jim
