How to remove double-sided tape from linoleum

I had a rug runner on my stairs that I put that double sided carpet tape on to keep it from moving on the floor (I tried that rubber mat thing - doesn't work). Anyway, I have since taken up the runner, but the tape residue is still there. What's the best way to take it off without ruining the vinyl flooring?
