Let me preface this by saying that I'm not a pro.... Anyway I framed my basement on my first step to finishing it. What I have found is that some of the studs are bowed out up to 1/4" - 3/8". I have heard of a few options: turn the bow in; shave off the protrusion with a recip. saw; or replace the stud entirely. I would prefer not to replace them, because there are probably about 35 that are slightly bowed, but I do want a tight fit for the drywall. Sorry for the long post, any input would be appreciated.
