I'm planning on installing 2" tiles over the formica in the kitchen and the backsplash along the walls. I have been told that I do not need to prepare the surface if I have a "GOOD" mastic adhesive, which I bought for $28.00 for a 31/2 gal bucket. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.......thanks
