Sometimes the valves and bleeders just get old and corroded up. Try replacing those on that circuit.
Get a plumber who deals with those in there. He can do an acid flush to clean out radiators and pipes. He may want to replace the water if it has been very long. You may just need more pressure to get up to the attic. Otherwise new valves and bleeders aren't that expensive and may be the tuneup you need. Nothing lasts forever.
