Hi, Sally. If I were you, I would post the question on the sawing and drying board at www.woodweb.com. The people there are really knowledgeable about relatively obscure domestic hardwoods.
One of the problems that you may be seeing is that there really isn't such a wood as Ironwood. I know that there are trees called that locally in many parts of the country but what is called Ironwood in one part of the country can be from a totally different tree than what is called Ironwood in another area. So let the people at the woodweb site know your state or general area.
