ironwood lumber

First...thanks for your thoughts. We did install the deck last weekend using 1x6 ironwood. Ironood is a hardwood found in great numbers in Brazil and Central America. It is a beautiful color ranging from nutmeg to brown-rust. No knots or rough spots. Hard on saws and drills, though. Wholesalers say it never needs to be sealed from the elements and will weather to a soft gray. We did seal the cut ends and will seal the remainder to keep it's current color. We finish the remaining deck boards this weekend..providing there is no snow!
