Wooden Gutters

Has anyone made wooden gutters or does anyone have any helpful suggestions in the construction of them, ie.. draining, lining, attachment.......etc.?
Own a 1840 farm house in Northwest Connecticut and it would be a sin to put aluminum gutters on it.....
