Christopher, Doing crown moulding certainly does not require a power mitre saw. I have seen $45 mitre jigs in Do-It-Yourselfer stores which combined with a $12 coping saw could be used to install beutiful crown moulding like a professional. See //www.bobvila.com/ht.htm to see what coping mouldings means. So you need not pay $200 to do one project. I bought a power mitre saw myself and I used it to install chair rail, crown moulding, build selving, cut plastic pipe, build a deck and 36'x42' addition to my brother-in-laws house.
