We have a newly installed Janitrol heat pump. What is the most efficient way to run one? We have been told to use the emergency heat when the temp drops below 32. What do we have do if we go away during the winter (we live in Dallas)? Also, the thermostat is about 7 degrees off. It's very difficult to set it. I am worried about our electric bill. It seems it runs a lot, but the company that put it in says it's "normal". It makes "vacumn" sounds. Obviously, we've never had a heat pump before. So, far it's terribly noisy & we are unhappy with it. However, the house was built for a heat pump. Thank you.
