IF you end up using the temporary outlet or adapter 'idea', be sure to turn the power back ON when you're ready to test. I've made my share of MULTIPLE trips up and down the stairs because I've forgotten to turn the darn 'thing' on.

(I just thought I'd save you an extra trip or 2.)
