Double hung window springs broke loose

HELP!!! Most of my double hung windows have springs that have come loose and retracted. If I could grab the spring and pull it back into place, I could re-attach them on the bottom. I dont want to remove any molding or replace the springs. I noticed a tool called a spring hook, I guess I would need on that isa at least 10" long. Any suggestions???
