To stop the door opener from working, just unplug it. It could have static in the circuits and unplugging it for 5 to 10 minutes may help dispel it. Also maybe someone in the neighborhood got a defective cordless phone, walkie/talkie, ham radio, etc. for christmas that is bleeding over on your wavelenght.
