Why not try to put in standard passive vent system instead of a powered one? A word of warning- Your house is like a chimney and a powered attic fan can cause a negative pressure and draw air from the house up to the attic. This negative pressure can cause fireplaces to put smoke in the room instead of the chimney and can do the same for gas furnace/water heater vents which then could allow carbon monoxide into the house instead of going up the furnace vent.
If you get one, spend the extra to get one with a thermostat and humidstat to come on for high heat or high humidity. About a hundred bucks at home cheapo.
