I have an hydronic system installed in 1959 in my basement floor (rec room) and the linoleum floor tiles are coming up. The tiles have asbestos in them. I would like to know the most economical way to either cover or take up the old flooring and what flooring options would be best for a rec room. If vinyl would be a good choice, do I have to put in a subfloor? I'm concerned about insulating the radiant properties.
