Our last house was a beautiful 4 bedroom, finished basement home. We made the mistake of buying the most expensive home in the neighborhood. Unfortunately our neighbor had a midlife crisis and bought a semi which he kept parked in his driveway. His brother decided to park his there also. It took us close to a year to sell our home. The comment we received most from the showing realitor was, "The people loved the house but didn't want to live next door to 2 tractor trailers". Our neighborhood had no rules or covenants. We took a huge loss and bought a smaller house in a nicer subdivision. Square footage isn't everything. The new house is 1/3 smaller and appraised for 80k more.
