The ceiling in my unfinished basement is 9'. However drain pipes and HVAC ducts hang below the joists above. I like a finsihed ceiling as opposed to a drop ceiling. I will create access panels to shutoffs, etc.
Any tips on how to frame a new ceiling 1' below the existing floor joists?
