If you just want a drywall ceiling there are grid systems available that install just the same as a regular drop ceiling. It hangs from wires and snaps together the same way but it's made for screwing into with drywall screws. It's a heavier guage material than that used for a normal suspended ceiling but other than that the installation is almost identical. It goes up much quicker and I would guess much cheaper than trying actually "frame" a ceiling. Steve K.
