This stain also could be from benzoyl peroxide acne medicine. Carpet dying is not cheap and in most cases it will not look right and will cost almost as much as a new carpet. Patches are possible for a short term fix if you do it your self, but again it will be a minimum charge for a professional. Home owners should cover it but if the room is small and deductable is not, you have to figure that one out. Jim
