Painting Plastic Shutters

I currently have black plastic louvered exterior shutters on my home. We are getting new siding and I don't wnat to re-invest in new shutters. I want to change them from black to red and I am not sure what type of paint I need to use as I do not want the paint to run. I hope someone here can help
