Building Entertainment/Armoire

I'm looking into designing a Cabinet System for my TV/CD/Stereo. I have the ideas and tools except fo the table saw for the essential ripping. My question to anyone who can help is, is this possible with just a circular saw, and what would be the best technique. Also, I have a routter, can I make solid joints with just the router bits. Example, dado, dovetail, etc. Any other advice for this first time project would be helpful...Thanks
