Hi" Dave, the only way youre going to get it painted is to make a light ladder out of 2x1 runners the cross laths can be 3x1 and screw then to the 2x1 ( just like a ladder) but you must at the top make a kind of hook out of say 4x2 and screw the 2x1 to the 2" side ( hence the hook) the ladder youve made should be just a little shorter than the length of trhe roof by about 6". ( this is to stop you from flipping the ladder off the roof when you get down... Now if youre right handed then start on the right if youre left handed then start on the left....
