Are special preparations and paint necessary for painting aluminum storm window frames? These frames which while old, are serviceable. They are natural aluminum color, have never been anodized or with baked on paint as most current high quality storm windows.
The aluminum has oxidized and has a rough surface. I plan to paint the house trim and would like to paint the frames to match so they will blend in rather than stand out as aluminum.
