I've got a Craftsman with the same problem. Replaced it with a cheapie from HD. The good thing is the new one uses an extruded aluminum rail. Saves 15-20 lbs. But now I've got a nifty remote control fwd/rev 1/2 hp motor and don't know what to do with it...
