This is from the Loctite Products web page...they are the manufacturers of one brand of Super Glue...

"Super Glue can be removed with acetone (nail polish remover), water, or Super Glue remover. You can also leave the glue alone and wait for your body's natural oils to break it down."

You need to check and see if your nail polish remover is NON-ACETONE....and if it is, go pick up a bottle of ACETONE!
