Painting outdoor handrails

Mike, I believe that I would use automotive Bondo to fill the cracks and look at Kilz for a primer to see if it is OK for outdoors. The Bondo is about the same as Minwax wood filler chemically and has a strong odor, but I guess you will not be moving the posts indoors, so don' t worry about that. The cracks will come back, but there is not much you can do about that.
